And it's right in the centre — hugely convenient, everything on foot, but with the life of the town around you. Sarnico sits at the southern tip of Lake Iseo, on the Bergamo shore. It has a pedestrian lakefront with restaurants, gelaterias and shops, and is known for the Art Nouveau villas designed by Giuseppe Sommaruga. Ferries to Monte Isola leave from here, and it's a handy base for Franciacorta and the Torbiere del Sebino nature reserve. Iseo and Lovere are an easy day trip.
Being in the centre means everything on foot, but also the life of the town around you: a few reviews mention noise as the flip side. We'd rather say so plainly. If you want the quiet of the hillside, there's our The Belvedere, also in Sarnico.
